About The Blog: GeneEugene

Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. ― Leonard Cohen

GeneEugene is a journal of poetry, informative articles, information, and inspiration in business and personal life. It is a reflection of life through words that create lasting pictures and images in our minds to stir change and encourage us to maximize our potential to make the world a better place. This is a platform of ideas for growth, promoting good causes, and creating conversations that empower young people to become better.

The Blog speaks through both Poetry and Prose to express personal opinions, feelings, commentaries, and criticism of various issues, topics, and events in our life. I give life to words by describing our day-to-day lives and issues that concern us the most.

About Me: Eugene Orunga

I am the face behind the blog. My name is Eugene Orunga. I am a freak of words, beautiful words coined to paint a perfect picture, invoke deep thoughts, and champion for good causes. I have always been passionate about writing and expressing myself through words. To paraphrase the words of Rakim, the legendary American Hip Hop Artist, When I am writing, i get trapped between the lines and let my thoughts Sink into the Paper like Ink (I Know You got Soul).

I am concerned about social justice. I strive to see the world where everybody has an equal right and an equal opportunity to maximize their potential and reach for their dreams.

I would describe myself as a very determined and highly motivated person. I do take my job seriously and I’m able to see things in perspective. I believe I’m quite easy-going and fun to work with (I haven’t heard any of my colleagues say anything to the Contrary). I’m an optimist rather than a pessimist – but I’m also a realist. I cope well when the going gets tough; I’m very good at finding solutions to problems. Above all, I would say I’m a positive and enthusiastic person – and I relish a challenge.

My Neck of the Woods

Originally from Webuye Town in Bungoma County, I currently Reside in Kahawa Wendani, Kiambu County.

I keep track of my neighborhood, representing online and reporting to the worlds developments that take place and emerging business and social issues. If you did not get it from here, it probably did not happen in Kahawa or Bungoma County!

Professional Background

My Personal Attitude

I love challenges and pressure because they helps in bringing out the best in us. I go for what I believe in and am determined to achieve my goals despite what others may think of me. The hate I get from people gives me the necessary drive to prove them wrong.

My Hobbies

I am very passionate about the Internet, Writing, Music, Movies and my friends.

I spend most of my time listening to music. I Mostly listen to hip hop+ Soft Rock music, but also venture out to other genres once in a while. M y Preference for hiphop is for the poetic value that forms the essence of some of the best artists in the genre. My favourite artists include Rakim, KRS ONE, 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, Jay-z, Nas, and Eminem to name a few. I am that old school.

I enjoy browsing the internet to keep abreast with the latest news, information, meeting new people, sharing ideas, learning from other people online, and networking.

I also do love watching movies and series, my favorite genre is Crime and investigation and comedies.

Whatever I write on my Posts comes from what i come across on the internet, my interactions with different people, and day-to-day issues and events in my community.

My Education Background

My diverse range of education has equipped me with admirable skills in various disciplines ranging from business and economics, social sciences, education, English grammar and linguistics, literature, Information Technology among others.

I graduated from Kenyatta University, Nairobi Kenya, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree. I have also done a bit of Certified Public Accountancy (CPA) up to section 3, at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya. I am currently looking for options of furthering my studies:), learning Never Ends.
